Founders Letter

Hi,

I’m Enise Burcu Derinboğaz, and I’m pleased to welcome you here.

Mori Cabin is the result of my journey—one that began in Istanbul, was shaped by my early immersion in the culture of Japan, and then evolved through a career in landscape architecture.

This journey deepened through the wisdom of nature in Austria, Switzerland, and Germany, and now, the latest chapter unfolds in New York City.

I’ve spent my life exploring the connection between people and nature, advocating for natural intelligence and the power of design to reconnect us with the earth.

Project Mori was born from this understanding: that nature is not something outside of us, but the essence of our being.

Mori Cabin embodies this belief—a space where the art of design meets the beauty of the earth, creating something timeless and meaningful.

Thank you for being part of this story. I look forward to welcoming you into this world of thoughtful design and deeper connection.

Mori Forest

Mori is a Japanese term represented by the kanji 森, a character from one of Japan’s three writing systems.

The kanji consists of three individual trees, symbolizing the idea that while one tree stands strong, it takes three to form a forest.

Project Mori森 is founded on this truth: we can grow individually, but it is together that we truly become a forest
